  • Networks & Philanthropy 28/11/2012

Harald Katzmair and Chet Tchozewski are guest editors of the December issue of the Alliance Magazine with the special focus on networks.

    Networks and philanthropy

It is generally agreed that the social ventures funded by philanthropy are unlikely to succeed without networks to support them. The last decades have produced a wide range of practical experiences of network building and network governance (on- and offline). At the same time the factors and dynamics determining the life, growth and death of networks are now much better understood, while the rise of social media and new mobile devices offer new opportunities to scale the impact of networking. This Alliance special feature will look at why networks matter to philanthropy and how funders can best support them.

Guest editors are Harald Katzmair, managing director of FASresearch, and Chet Tchozewski, founder of Global Greengrants Fund.
