• Invitation to the “6th Viennese Talks on Resilience and Networks” 15/1/2020

In the course of our research project „Roadmap to the Implementation of the Paris Agreement – RIPA“, we recently conducted a referential network analysis about climate protection measures in Austria.
The result is a map of initiatives, institutions, and measures.

Our research was guided by the “Theory of Plural Rationalities” (also known as “Cultural Theory”) and the notion of clumsy solutions, assuming that we cannot counter the current situation with a one-size-fits-all approach but rather need different approaches and perspectives.

Now, we want to present our results and deepen the insights with the question about the guiding principles of collaboration for climate mitigation and adaptation in terms of the “Theory of Plural Rationalities”.
The morning session of the day contains presentations by invited experts on the topics of climate, networks, resilience, and the “Theory of Plural Rationalities”. After a lunch break, we will continue with a round table from diverse stakeholders and that draws out the collective knowledge of all participants.

The “6th Viennese Talks on Resilience and Networks” is organized by the research team: Michael Thompson (IIASA), Brian Fath (IIASA and Towson University) and Harald Katzmair (Founder and CEO FASresearch) and hosted by the federation of Austrian Industries in Vienna.

The event takes place on Tuesday, the 17th of March 2020 from 8:30am – 4:00pm at the Federation of Austrian Industries in Vienna.

Participation is for free, but we kindly ask you to register till the 28th of February 2020 via email:

We are looking forward to your participation!
